The construction and installation of new suction tower at pier 1-B have been concluded, said suction tower belong to port operator "Terminal Internacional del Sur". Mv. "Pacific Bulker" discharged 5,000 mt of maize on last june 25th, being the fist vessel discharged into Matarani's silos using the new suction tower at a rate of 300/350 mt/hour However, we understand by the end of july new suction tower would reach a production of about 400/hour.

Likewise, Port operators Tisur will perform some maintenance works on old suction tower as intention is to improve discharge rate up to 180/200 mt/hour. We understand this maintenance works will not take more than two months and would commence very soon.

By the end of july or early august the two suction towers (old/new) would be working together at rate of abt 550 mt/hour.
